Nathan Kenny

Training Areas : Camden (Mondays), Penrith (Wednesdays), Peakhurst (Thursdays), West Hoxton (Fridays).

Nathan Kenny often finds himself mentioned on Ranell’s coaching courses. The true story is that he first came to us for an assessment of his running technique on a Friday afternoon. Ranell took one look at him and advised him not to play his AFL game the next day but rather commence a stringent stretching and recovery program instead as his hamstrings were very tight and she felt that there was a high risk of injury. Being an important member of the squad he felt obliged to play and during the course of the game snapped his hamstring.

8 weeks later he came back to her and asked to become an ASSA speed coach which we were most happy to oblige as he has a very strong coaching and playing background and he is now a valuable member of the ASSA team.

His sport is AFL and he has an excellent coaching and playing resume as follows:

* played with the Sydney Swans NEAFL team across 3 seasons before moving up to QLD to play for Southport in the NEAFL competition.
* currently playing for St George in the Sydney AFL
* played for the Sydney AFL representative side in 2015 against the Canberra AFL rep side.
* was a member of the Sydney Swans Academy coaching staff 2012-’14 before joining ASSA.
* currently studying PE teaching at the university of Wollongong.
